Awesome Driftin Jack "Cairo" is a coming 3 year old registered Quarter Horse Gelding standing 15 hands high. Don't let his age scare you off, this gelding is one of the safest and quietest horses to ever live. From the day we began handling him, he has been nothing but gentle, safe, and sensible. He takes to any task bravely and easily, like he's done it his whole life! He has gone English and western, bridleless, done trail obstacle courses, trailered off property, and is a dream on the trails. Everything we have thrown his way he has casually done it like he's seen it a million times before. He hasn't been pushed or ridden hard, but he has been exposed and introduced to just about everything you could imagine. We don't do 60 days of just riding in circles like most people do. We do some ringwork, a trail rides, off property rides, cows, obstacle courses, clinics, you name it, working in important foundations and basics into every ride - in the arena and out. There has not been another horse of his age that we would call kid or grandma safe, but he is both. We trust him both under saddle, and on the ground, with our own children! He is absolutely one in a million when it comes to his brain! Put that together with his good looks, breeding, and talent; you have a wonderful young horse that will be successful in any ring, with any rider, for years and years to come.
In the ring, Cairo has three balanced and comfortable gaits. He picks up both leads, has a natural lead change, and lopes off from a walk. He has a beautiful stop, listens to seat and leg cues, and is soft in the bridle. We don't ask much shape from the youngsters, but he naturally wants to be round and shapey! He neck reins and direct reins, and even rides around bridleless! Ride him on a loose rein, throw the kids on him, or hop on bareback for a fun ride around the farm. Cairo will easily be able to sculpt into anything you desire as he grows. He's a great mover with an even better brain! We have walked him over rails, logs, flower boxes, and he could care less. When he is ready to begin jumping he will be brave and easy.
On the trails and off property, Cairo has no cares. He has gone on trail rides in all terrain, ridden to and through town, and even gone inside Tractor Supply! He could care less about his surroundings and has not spooked at a single thing on our travels. He rides alone, in a group, and rides off from the group without a care. He loves to splash in the water, and has even been a lead horse when some some older horses were afraid to walk into the river! He loads right into the trailer and rides out quietly, wherever you go, like he's been there his whole life. He was awesome on the trail obstacle course, even better than some of our older horses! Cairo is reliable and takes in every new or spooky thing like it's no big deal.
In the barn, Cairo is a love. He truly enjoys people and being loved on. He will stand for hours to be groomed, braided, and doted on. He has impeccable manners and is sweet and loving, yet polite and respectful. Cairo is textbook for what a well started young horse should aim to be. He is used to the kids climbing on him, around him, and causing chaos in the barn. Cairo is a pleasure for all the usual barn activities, and is easy to catch, bathe, clip, and be around. He has no quirks, vices, or maintenance, and can be handled safely by anyone. He stands tied, stands without being tied, and is a real barn favorite!
If you've been following our page you'll notice we don't offer many coming 3 year olds. That's because we normally keep our youngsters until they have matured a bit and have proven to be amateur friendly and family safe across the board. Cairo, however, has been as safe and easy as they come from day one. He was born quiet and easy, and he honestly doesn't need another year of professional work to be safe and reliable. He has sat for a month, been pulled from the pasture, and gone on a bareback trail ride. He has sat another month and come out and done all of the bomb proofing you have seen in his video, and taken all of it on the first shot. That's right, first try, no prep needed. He sees it, and just takes it all in with no cares. We are ready to offer him now, with a super solid foundation, tons of exposure, and ready to grow into ANY job. Cairo is an exceptionally special horse in every way. He has the talent, looks, and brains for any discipline or show ring. Have a solid horse that is fun for you, and safe enough for everyone in the family to enjoy!
Cairo is available to be seen at our farm in Clover, SC by appointment.
