Denver is an 8 year old Paint gelding standing a solid and sturdy 14.3 hands high. This is the type of horse that will go to the ends of the earth for his one person. If you want a best friend that you can take anywhere and do anything with, Denver is your man. He is a great size for any rider, close enough to the ground to get on and off easily, and wide enough to take up a taller riders leg (the rider in the video is 5"9). Denver is an insanely brave jumper, loves to trail ride, and is a dream to ride both English and western. He is polite as they come, gentle, and extremely versatile. He thrives on a relationship and would love nothing more than to have his one special person to ride, do groundwork, and bond with. Once he knows his person, he will walk through fire for them. You can see in his video, all that he has done in partnership with us, and we cannot wait to see what more he will do with his new person!
In the ring, Denver rides like a schoolmaster. He is easy and simple in every way. He has great transitions, picks up both leads, and is happy riding on a loose rein or in a frame. He is soft in the bridle, easy to get round, and is adjustable, and very comfortable, in all three gaits. He has schooled first level dressage tests easily, knows basic lateral work, and can jump around a course. Denver is forgiving, tolerant, and knows his job. He is happy to fill in the blanks when his rider needs some help. He is so much fun to jump! He has gone off property to school both in the arena, and over xc fences, and he has blown us away with how talented, brave, and honest he is. In western tack, Denver neck reins, has a nice stop, lopes off, and carries his head low on a loose rein.
Off property and on the trails, Denver is a great partner. He has lots of miles on the trails and is always up for a trail ride; whether it be a hack after a lesson, or an overnight camping trip. Denver has been ridden to, through, and across town. He is safe with heavy traffic, crowds, and livestock. He crosses water, rides out alone, gets along in a group, and loves to do the trail obstacle courses. Denver is the type of horse that likes to explore new things with his person. Whether that be a clinic, new obstacle courses, new trails, or trying out a new discipline. Load him up and go off on a fun adventure!
In the barn, Denver needs a person who will love him. He is oh so polite and gentle, with impeccable manners. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body and truly always aims to please. When he first arrived, it was a bit of a culture shock after being with one person his whole life, but we quickly became such a solid team that I feel like I can accomplish absolutely anything with him. He is probably not the type to thrive in a lesson program, (though he rides like a school horse!) because he prefers one person, or one family, to call his own. But, if you enjoy seeing and feeling your bond with your horse every day, Denver is right for you. He is a sweet gentleman that deserves the best partnership possible!
